Parental Guide Illustrations
Gaming in Families
With their website relaunch, German age rating institution USK wanted to visualize their parental guide section with new illustrations.
The Objective
The German age rating institution for games (USK) completely overhauled its website in 2019. As part of the relaunch, its team wanted to make their parental guidance content more accessible. To do that, a new illustration style was needed to visually integrate the pre-existing articles into the new design.
The Execution
An overarching visual framework was developed: For each subject, new friendly icons were combined with the USK’s diamond-shaped key visual. With a diverse cast of family protagonists and pastel variations of USK’s corporate colors, each illustration has a distinctive look while still obviously being part of the set.
