GamesCamp 2018

Games Ahoy! Berlin setting sail

The GamesCamp 2018 was a summer camp in the Berlin area. Kids and young teens from all over Germany came together for fun indoor and outdoor activities mixed with an introduction to game development. The theme was “Games ahoy! Berlin setting sail on the high sea”. The illustration literally turned the city into an adventurous little sailing boat. Arrrr!

Getting high scores in German literature

Neuruppin is the birth city of famous German novelist and poet Theodor Fontane (1819 – 1898). On the occasion of Fontane’S 200th birthday in 2019, the city hosted the 2019 games summer camp. Once again, kids and teenagers got the chance to find new friends, enjoy a lot of fun activities – and develop their talents by working with game industry professionals.

To most German schoolchildren, Theodor Fontane is just another old literature person they do not know how to relate to. This summer camp’s goal was to spark the participants’ interest in Fontane – by making games based on his work! The poster took Fontane and placed him as an elegant mentor between two aspiring young game developers. With his fancy suit and a touch of color he suddenly fits right in! In the foreground: The group’s furry little mascot. Martens are typical inhabitants of the Havelland region which plays an important role in Fontane’s work.

Cosplay-Workshop Minden 2019

Cosplay culture: Exploring new identities

The public library in Minden wanted to recruit attendees for their cosplay workshop. Cosplay is short for costume play and refers to the art of creating costumes of well-known or even original characters. Often, cosplayers create those costumes of characters they identify with and do not only wear the finished costume, but actually play the character.

Especially to adolescents, cosplay can mean so much more that just expressing admiration for their favorite game characters. It gives them a chance to try out new facets of their personality. The illustration focuses on this identity-playing aspect of cosplay.
